We want to make electric vehicles (EVs) easy and accessible for everyone.
So, we made the Power Trip app to support EV drivers by:
Giving you an easy, accurate, and free route planner
The Power Trip app uses map data, the physics of your car and driving profile to estimate how much
energy your car will need to get from A to B and which charging stops you’ll need to make.
Once you’ve set up your driver profile, you just need to tell the app where you’re going and it will
work out the best, most efficient way for you to get there.
If you need to stop somewhere specific
on your journey, no sweat, just tell the app. It will also help you to find fun and delicious things to do
while you’re waiting to charge.
Helping with range anxiety emergencies
Not sure that you’ve charged up enough to reach your next stop?
Power Trip’s
feature will show you the closest charging stations
that your car is able to use, and how much juice you’ll need to drive there.
Making complicated technology easy to understand
Did you know that a 2016 30kWh Nissan Leaf recharges at 2kW using AS/NZS 3112 harmonised NZ
and Australian standard AC outlets?
In other words, you can plug your car in to a bog standard home plug to get a full charge overnight.
Our EV guide contains everything you need to know about EVs in plain English. Written with the help
of EV experts, it’s easy to navigate and available in the app or on our website.
Supporting your day-to-day EV needs
We’re building a network of businesses and organisations across New Zealand who support electric
vehicles.
Need a service? Looking at a battery replacement? Hunting for a café that will give you a
discount for driving electric? Find them all in the Power Trip app.
Keep your EV lifestyle easy with WOF and service reminders and notifications that you can tailor to
your specific needs, like firmware updates and the upgrades that you are interested in.
Respecting your privacy
Power Trip doesn’t steal your location data, force you to give us personal information, or fill your
screen with ads.
It’s important to us to be transparent about the information we collect and to
respect your personal information.
